Annie Leibovitz was the last person to photograph John Lennon. Five hours after photographing him he was killed. Annie promised John that this photo would make the front cover of Rolling Stone. The next issue it did just that, but with no headline, because there was no need to explain what had happened and what everyone would be talking about. The photograph was meant to show just how much love their was between Lennon and Yoko.

I don’t know why I am so moved by this photo, even before knowing the background behind it.
